Barcelona FC sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said: “Luis Suarez is going to play a positive role in the years he will be at Barcelona.” The Spanish giants accept humans with all their imperfections, all their mistakes and their capacity to learn from their errors.”
Barcelona had given much for their new man, rumoured to be around EUR95 million ($128 million) but he can neither play nor train with the team till November.
Suarez’s ban of four months and nine internationals is the harshest ban ever imposed at the World Cup to the Court of Arbitration for Sport even FIFA president has said that the ban was “very severe”.
The player has been trying to get the ban reduced and when
journalists asked Zubizarreta if Barcelona will attempt to appeal too,
he said: “We are analysing the information provided by FIFA to see how we can defend the player’s rights.”
Meanwhile Barca’s new boss Luis Enrique has told press men he would have preferred to have Suarez with them at pre season.
