The Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon Aminu Tambuwal has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to negotiate with terror group, Boko Haram to secure the safe return of the abducted Chibok girls.

Tambuwal and President Jonathan
Tambuwal said this on Tuesday, July 15th, while receiving a delegation of the BringBackOurGirls campaign group in his office at the House of Assembly.
While speaking to the delegation which paid him a courtesy visit, he said, "If negotiating is what will bring back, for instance, our Chibok girls, then for God’s sake, we should negotiate. Negotiating does not just mean you are submitting; you are not. It is just a strategy. Whatever we have to do we must do, to bring back these girls safe and alive."
He explained that despite the hostilities between Israel and Palestine, they were still holding talks.
Leadership reports that Tambuwal also called on President Jonathan to partner with the BringBackOurGirls group and answer their questions, while urging security agents to be civil in their dealings with the group as they were only there to provide support for the safe return of the abducted girls.
"Government is not a secret cult. If you are not running a secret cult, you should accept to answer questions, especially coming from a responsible group like you," he said.
Over 200 girls were kidnapped from their school in Chibok, Borno State in April this year. Boko Haram sect had repeatedly said in videos posted on the internet that it would only release the kidnapped girls in exchange for its detained members.
Some Nigerians have asked the president to negotiate with the Boko Haram insurgents since all other measures to rescue the girls seem not to be working, while some others are against negotiating with the sect.
However, there has been report that the Federal Government is holding secret meeting with Boko Haram on how to free the remaining 219 girls who are still being held captive.
