Abia State ex-governor Orji Uzor Kalu is to contest in the
upcoming elections for the position of the President of the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF).

Moreover,
the official claimed he would sacrifice his 2015 presidential ambition
to run for the sports body office, Daily Trust reports.
The Cable quoted Kalu as saying to sl10.ng:
"I am interested in becoming the next president of the NFF... I will run for the position if the atmosphere is good."
Explaining his decision, the ex-governor said he would like to lead the NFF for 4 years and added that "Nigeria can win the World Cup if I become the NFF president".
Ahead
of the August 26 elections for the position, currently occupied by
Aminu Maigari, Kalu, who was the financier of Enyimba of Aba when the
team won back-to-back CAF Champions League in 2003 and 2004, insisted he
was capable of achieving even better results.
