A truck belonging 7UP bottling company buried a girl alive after crashed, heaping its content on the yet-to-be-identified girl.
The
incident took place at about 8:30pm at the Orji/Okigwe road, few metres
before the entrance of the Imo State University (IMSU) over the
weekend.
According to report, the truck fully loaded with drinks
was coming from Orji when the driver lost control, crushing other cars
in the process, before it finally toppled over. Two pedestrians were
said to have died while several others were left with injuries.
An
eyewitness said, "I was there and saw when some of the drinks started
falling from the truck as the driver battled to bring it under control.
But it skidded off the dual carriage way and fell with a thunderous
sound."
The driver of the truck escaped unhurt but deserted the scene immediately for for fear of mob attack.
However,
a combined team of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and police
as well as officials of the state government were said to have arrived
the scene,and conveyed the injured victims to an undisclosed hospital.
