Alhaji Ado Bayero Died In Kano On July 6, 2014

The Emir of Kano, Ado Abdullahi Bayero, is dead.

According to family sources, cited by SaharaReporters and other media, one the most prominent traditional rulers of Nigeria passed away at the age of 83 in Kano in the early hours of June 6, 2014, Friday.
The burial ceremony in accordance with Islamic rites will be held later today.
The late Emir of Kano was born on July 25, 1930. He took the throne in 1963.
Ado Bayero was the 13th Fulani emir since the Fulani War of Usman dan Fodio, when the Fulani took over the Hausa city-states. The late Emir also served as an Ambassador to Senegal.

Ado Bayero will be remembered as one of the strongest and powerful emirs in the history of the Hausa land. He also accumulated huge wealth by investments in stock market, agricultural entrepreneurship and other spheres.

Who will take ascend the throne next?
The first child and the late Emir, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero, will take the throne next.
The Crown Prince was born on April 1, 1956. He is a director of many organizations and NGOs, the District Head of Gwale Local Govt. and a Council Member of Kano Emirate.

* Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero will become the next Emir of Kano after father's death.
Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero was turbanned in 1990 and since then he has been serving Kano state and has this titles to show for it: Dan Ruwatan Kano, Tafidan Kano, Sarikin Dawakin Tsakargida and presently the Chiroman Kano. His hobbies include farming, horseback riding, squash, reading and travelling.
