Frank Mba Claims Police To Provide Surveillance In Viewing Centres

A day before 2014 FIFA World Cup kick off, the Nigerian police claimed they would enhance surveillance in and around the viewing centres nationwide to protect the football fans.

This was made known yesterday by CSP Frank Mba, who also urged the owners of the centers and the visiting fans to be vigilant during the Mundial.

To eliminate the possibility of attacks, Mba insisted on additional security measures to be taken in such places, like conducting  "a thorough stop and search of viewers" by the centres operators.

It would be recalled that for security reasons in the state following the advice by the Nigerian military.

The measures regarding shutting down centres and enhancing surveillance there are connected with a series of recent attacks in various areas nationwide.
