Mu'azu
was born on June 11, 1955 in Boto, Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State. He
holds a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying and a Master's degree
in Construction Management from Ahmadu Bello, as well as a Master's in
Construction Economy from the University of Birmingham, UK.
Having changed several jobs in both public and private sector, Mu'azu ran for gubernatorial seat in Bauchi State in 1999, winning 56 per cent of the vote. He was re-elected for another four-year term in 2003. He also aspired for senatorial seat in 2007, but unsuccessfully this time.
On January 19 Mu'azu was chosen as the PDP National Chairman, replacing Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. The new chairman promised to restore the ruling party to it's peak.
"Happy Birthday our Game Changer", said the PDP to their Chairman on the party's official Facebook page, where they also shared some birthday photos.
