Confusion As Woman Kidnaps Four School Children In Oyo

There was pandemonium at the Yemetu and Agodi areas of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, after four school children were reportedly kidnapped by a woman.

The Nation reports that the school children were allegedly abducted the woman at about 9.am, a development that reportedly caused confusion in the area as parents were seen scampering to withdraw their children from school.

It was alleged that a woman wearing hijab kidnapped four pupils in a school in the area while the proprietress went to pick other pupils in the neighbourhood.


When news of the incident went into the town, some resident claimed to have seen the kidnapper and the children before she suddenly disappeared.
Some residents comprising aggrieved mothers marched to the police station inside the state secretariat at 11am and reported the matter.
The force spokesperson, however, urged the residents to provide facts and figures on the matter in order to arrest the suspect and rescue the children.

“The allegation was brought to us that one woman in hijab kidnapped four children. We are investigating and the investigation will reveal whether or not it is true,” she said.

Mrs. Ilobanafor also urged members of the public to also give useful information to the command.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Oporomor Kingdom in Ekeremor, Bayelsa State, His Royal Majesty, Augustine Ebikeme was also kidnapped on November 18, 2014, in Kokori community, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State by gunmen.
