Katy Perry Says Rihanna Is ‘Unaffected’ By Her Celebrity Status.

Katy Perry loves spending time with her friend Rihanna because she’s so “unaffected” by the spotlight. However, the same doesn’t ring true for others.

The Grammy-nominated “Roar” singer recently sat down with the folks at OK! magazine for a quick chat about everything from breakups to industry “mean girls.” Perry said that Rihanna is a rare commodity in the music industry since she doesn’t seem obsessed with the fact that she’s adored by millions.

“[Rihanna] is so down to earth, but also so wild! We share a lot of stuff when we get together. I’m drawn to genuine personalities and people who aren’t affected by this spotlight – Ria is so unaffected,” Katy Perry explained during the recent interview.

Perry also took a moment to discuss fellow singer and controversial pop star Miley Cyrus. Although she didn’t give the former Hannah Montana star the same “unaffected” label as her pal Rihanna, Katy said Cyrus doesn’t seem to care what other people in the business think about her antics.

“Miley’s just a sweet girl and doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Other girls in this business aren’t so friendly — they’re secret mean girls. I like to hang out with the unaffected girls, like Rihanna,” the singer explained.

Fans of Katy Perry are still patiently waiting for a collaboration with Rihanna. Perry teased such a project late last year, though nothing has come to fruition as of this writing. Since the “Diamonds” singer recently teamed up with Shakira, it’s obvious that she doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight with someone else.

“We’ve actually been talking about it for years, so we can’t let anyone down. We have to do the best song ever. Beyond that, I think we’ll definitely get around to it and when it happens, you are going to know,” Perry said about a possible duet.

For those who don’t keep up with celebrity relationships, Katy Perry and Rihanna have maintained their relationship through some decidedly tough times. Although rumors suggested the pair had a falling out when Rihanna went back to Chris Brown, everything seems hunky dory at the moment.

“I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I’m reminded of the light that she has. There’s a lot of dark in this business… I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages — they are the root of their demise,” Perry told Elle UK.
