Bayelsa Governor Losses Eight Aides

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has loss eight political appointees in his cabinet following their resignation from office.


This was made known on Tuesday in a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, a copy obtained by The Nation.

He explained that the eight appointees resigned because of their political ambition, adding that they intend to contest for various seats in the state and national assemblies.
The chief press secretary listed the resigned appointees to include the Commissioner for Education, Mr. Salo Adikumo and the Chief of Staff, Bayelsa House, Abuja, Chief Dikivie Ikhiogha.

He said others comprised the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Fred Agbedi, whom he said submitted his resignation letter to the office of the Secretary to the State Government and the Commissioner for Local Government, Mr. Maitama Obodo.
Iworiso-Markson further hinted that the Director-General of the Due Process Bureau, Mr. Joshua Ogore, and three other senior special assistants as well as a special adviser have also resigned from their offices.
The chief press secretary, however, revealed that Mr. Fyneman Wilson has been appointed as the new political adviser to the governor.

It was gathered that all the appointees who resigned from their various positions are to contest the 2015 elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It would be recalled that when his tenure ends though to support President Goodluck Jonathan’s Campaign and the future nomination of Governor Dickson for re-election in 2016.
