Governor Amosun's Tour Turns Bloody In Ogun

There was chaos in Ogun state on Monday as one person was shot dead during Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s assessment tour to local government areas of the state, according to eyewitnesses.

The Governor’s tour which turned bloody left several injured, according to eyewitnesses report.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that trouble started in Ilaro town of the State during the governor’s visit, as two rival groups of political thugs clashed over territorial rights.
The hoodlums, who were armed with various dangerous weapons, including guns, machete and charms engaged themselves in free for all.

Meanwhile according to eyewitnesses report the  incident occurred outside the venue of the assessment tour with the gangs making use of all sorts of dangerous weapons during the fight.
Ogun State Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the death of one person in the incident while stating the incident was masterminded by hoodlums.


Mr. Adejobi disclosed that 16 suspects have been arrested while several weapons such as four pump action guns, cutlasses, axes and assorted charms were retrieved.

He said the arrested suspects would be investigated and those that are guilty would face the wrath of law.

Meanwhile recall that on Saturday, 11 October, 2014, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway leaving few people including the governor’s aides sustaining injuries, however there was reportedly no casualties.
