Donald Sterling Fined $2.5 Million Banned For Life Over Racist Remarks

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been in trouble over his recent racist remarks against black people.

The NBA Commissioner Adam Silver yesterday came out after a long meeting with team owners and game stake holders and announced that Sterling will be fined $2.5 million and has been banned from life.

Adam Silver said: The man whose voice is heard on the recording and a second recording IS Mr. Sterling. And that the hateful opinions voiced by that man are by Mr. Sterling. That they came from an NBA owner only heightens the damage and my personal outrage.

Accordingly effective immediately I am banning Mr. Sterling for LIFE with any association with the Clippers association or the NBA. He may not attend any NBA games or any practices. Sterling would be barred from attending NBA board of Governor’s meetings or participating in any other league activity.”

Silver also urged the NBA Board of Governor’s to force Sterling to give his team up and sell it.
Silver ended saying “We stand together in condemning Mr. Sterling’s views. They simply have no place in the NBA.”
