Sahara Reporters informs with reference to its sources that the incident occurred at the Rivers State government lodge when the party state governors rejected the candidature of the party national leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ex Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who was Lagos State Attorney General during Tinubu’s ruling.

The source also disclosed that Tinubu was not present at the meeting due to feeling the hostile atmosphere previously coming from the governors.

Meanwhile Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), the APC presidential candidate picked last week, came to the meeting without saying a word however during it.
The event allegedly dispersed after Buhari was given the final directive to choose whomever he finds fit for the position.

According to the sources, Buhari might revert to Tinubu to nominate a candidate for him as a mark of respect.

Controversies over the candidature of the APC candidate for the position of the Vice continue. It was previously reported that the issue was triggering hot discussions withing the party as the APC governors Tinubu were believed to be at loggerheads over who would emerge Buhari’s running mate.
Some sources used to claim that Tinubu did not even target the position because he knew he was not the right candidate to be Buhari’s running mate. But all agreed that the politician would play the key role in Buhari making a choice.
