Adamu Mu'azu Calls On Governor Al-Makura, Other Defectors, To Return

Learn From Past Humiliation And Join PDP – Mu'azu To Al-Makura
The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, called on the Governor of Nasarawa State, Umar Tanko Al-Makura, to join the PDP. Mu’azu added the governor must learn from the humiliation of the defeat his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered in the last local government elections.

Mu’azu made this statement at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on April 1, 2014, when PDP delegation from the North-Central geo-political zone paid a solidarity visit to President Goodluck Jonathan.

The chairman of the ruling party called on all the defectors to return, saying there is no shame in doing so. He also noted that PDP “has the pot to feed everybody”.

The delegation, led by Senator Ahmadu Ali, also comprised Senate President David Mark, the PDP governors and federal legislators from the zone, some deputy governors, former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu, former Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris, Professor Jerry Gana, among others.

It would be noted that PDP was successful at Nasarawa local government polls conducted on March 22, 2014.

Earlier, Senate President David Mark said the North-Central was for the PDP and vice versa, assuring Jonathan that the zone would always support him.

Mark also asked Jonathan to deal with the serious security challenge confronting the zone, saying if those behind the killings succeed in destabilising the North-Central zone, it would become easy for them to destabilise other zones in the country.
