The suspect allegedly took the sexual photos of Reema when they were in relationships and threatened to show them to her family if she broke up with him.

According  to the prosecution, last July he killed the girl by cutting off her head with a knife and then stabbed himself. Even a more dire detail about the murder is that the deceased was still alive when he started to remove her head, prosecutor Graham Reeds said.

Hussein, who was found naked outside his flat, immediately confessed to the crime saying: "I don't know why I did it. What I did was wrong. I need punishing for it."

It was revealed during the investigation that on the fateful day the victim went to Hussein's flat with her passport and a large amount of money, without saying to anyone where she was going.

After the arrest the man assaulted several doctors before having been injected with a sedative.

Rejecting the likely defence line concerning the mental illness, Mr. Reed said: "He was able to function perfectly well - he held down a job, he lived on his own, he had his own flat and, it's a self-evident truth, he had a girlfriend."

The trial continues.
