According to Ms. Bello from the Trade Union Congress (TUC), if the women had performed their domestic roles well, the nation would not be suffering from corruption.
Explaining her position, the female delegate said that women had failed to give their children proper training and accused them of encouraging their husbands to engage in corrupt practices.
In Bello's opinion, instead of reproaching their men and comparing them with neighbours, women should take care of children proper upbringing.
Recalling her childhood, Bello said that when she brought to the house something that did not belong to her, the parents would rebuke and beat her up.
The delegate lamented that the situation had become different since. According to her, parents now indulge their children when they bring strange things home.
Concluding her statement she also added: "I never believed that women can steal money from the office, but they are doing it now. We should change our attitude."
TUC representative was strongly supported and received loud applause after her speech.
