The Sun reports that the governor warned opposition parties against
reliance on negative criticism and blackmail of Mr. President as the
core strategy of wresting power from him.
Fayose, who gave the warning while speaking with aviation correspondents at the Lagos airport, urged caution by opposition parties and other critics considering Jonathan’s achievements in office.
He said the South-South region where the President hails from still accounts for the bulk of the revenue generated to sustain the country, and warned that Jonathan should not be bullied out of the presidency.
The governor, however, agreed that next month’s presidential election would be quite challenging, but expressed optimism that the president would be re-elected.
