PHOTOS: Arrested Gunmen Confess Membership Of Boko Haram Sect

A group of herdsmen arrested by the Nigerian military in Taraba have said they are part of the Islamist group, Boko Haram.

According to officials of Nigeria's Defense Headquarter, the terrorists were operating under the guise of herdsmen from a camp on the outskirts of Wukari in located in the Taraba State.

The arrested gunmen reportedly made the confessions after they were arrested in the aftermath of a fire fight they engaged the Defense Headquarter troops.

It was gathered that an unreported number of Nigerian military troops and insurgents died following an attack on a military check point at Gindin Dorowa, a suburb of Wukari located in the Taraba State.

Sources from Nigeria’s Defense Headquarters claimed that other members of the group were spotted by air surveillance and were later trailed to their camp where they engaged the troops in a prolonged fire-fight.

The terrorists, according to Major General Chris Olukolade, the Director of Defense Headquarters, were clad in the usual pattern of dress their counterparts wear while operating in Borno, and Yobe states.
