Earlier it was reported that the DPO had been released from custody. However, the misleading information was refuted. Mr Manko stressed that neither a civilian nor a policeman who infringed the law would be covered by the command, moreover, the criminal would face the wrath of the law. Accordnig to Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, the offender is under their arrest as the panel has just commenced investigation.
It was learnt that one more policeman who battered a woman was arrested and kept in custody. Speaking on the other cases Mr Manko dispelled rumours about the robbery in Mushin area. He said that the alleged robbery in reality turned out a routine brawl among rival groups over supremacy and money. The incident happened during the carnival. The troublemakers took advantage of the night to launch attack on each other, over time the police officers arrived at the scene to calm down the situation.
Manko convinced that no robbery can be launched without police responding. He also urged Lagosians to cooperate with the Police to fight and prevent crimes.
