How My Uncle Has Been Having Sex With Me Since 2013 - 12-Year-Old Girl Opens Up

A 32-year-old man, Anthony Wayas has been arrested Rivers State Police Command for allegedly having sex with his 12-year-old niece since 2013.

The girl (name withheld) has been living with her uncle Wayas and his wife in Finima community in Bonny Local Government Area since the death of her father while she still a baby.

Recounting her ordeal, the girl said her uncle started abusing her sexually in 2013. He would leave for work in the morning and come back during the day while his wife is away at her work place where she's a cleaner.

She said, "He would take the children to the big room, asking them to stay there, and would take me to the small room. He would remove my pant and push me on the bed. He would then remove his trousers and bring out his manhood. He would then put it inside me and sleep with me. I can’t count the number of times it has happened. When I told the wife, she threatened to return me to our village."

On April 19, her uncle dragged her into the bathroom and had sex with her, warning her not to shout. The next day, she reported the incident to a neighbour who told someone else that came to interview her. After the interview, they called youths in the area who beat him up mercilessly and almost lynched him but for the intervention of policemen from Finima police station, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Mohammed Suleiman Baba.

According to a reliable source within the community, the case of defilement was reported to the chairman of Finima Youth Congress, Comrade Aladiokuma Hart, who in turn notified the DPO and the girl was put in protective custody as Wayas, had allegedly threatened to kill her if she should expose him.

Wayas however denied having sex with the girl, claiming he has a problem with his manhood which has resulted in his inability to make love to a woman.

Confirming the story, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers State, Grace Iringe-Koko said that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations, after which the suspect would be charged to court  if found guilty of the crime.
