Civil Defence Member Charged For Killing Teacher

The Nigerian Police Force has revealed the apprehension of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Assistant-Inspector Lasisi Kabir Iyanda for the gruesome murder of an Islamic Religious Knowledge in Ejigbo, Osun State.

The man had allegedly killed 32-year-old Kamaldeen Muritala on 27 June, 2014.
The Ogun state Police Command revealed that Muritala died at Baptist Hospital Ejigbo after receiving fatal stab wounds on his neck.

The unfortunate incident was caused by an argument between the two, while the National Examination Council (NECO) examination was taking place.

After the teacher had kicked the bucket, his students went on a riot threatening to burn down the office structures belonging to the NSCDC.

The situation was then controlled by the immediate response of the police squad nearby.

The Police High Command thanked the officers and men of Osun State Police Command for their fast reaction which saved the suspect’s life, as well as tangible properties. The authorities also urged the citizens to avoid acts of jungle justice.
