According
to Daily Independent, Adeyeye, who made this known while fielding
questions from journalist in Osogbo during a programme tagged
'Newspoint', said: “the people of the state have demonstrated in 2011 that they can make the right choice because we have good leadership.”
* Olusola Adeyeye
Adeyeye stressed that Osun people have demonstrated their love and support for Governor Rauf Aregbesola through the way they always troop out en mass for his campaign rallies in the state.
According to him, the turnout of people at the mega rallies held at Iwo, Ikire, Ikirun and Ibokun showed their support for Aregbesola’s second term bid.
"I am supremely confident that what happened in Ekiti State cannot play out in the State of Osun because just as people demonstrated their support for Aregbesola in 2007, they are even now more committed to him following his outstanding performance in his first term tenure of office," he said.
The campaign chairman pointed out that the mega rallies held so far and the ones to be hold in the federal constituency headquarters are geared towards demonstrating the strength of the party, which had always worked.
Speaking on the reason why the state former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Rufus Akeju was deployed, he attributed it to pressure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding that PDP could not however, point out where the former REC erred, and wished the incoming REC well but pleaded for fairness in his dealing of all political parties.
Meanwhile, a member of the Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who declined to give his name said, he is still observing the outcome of Ekiti election, noting that it was either certain malpractices took place or the Ekiti people made a grievous mistake in their choice of candidate.
APC candidate, Fayemi Kayode, was defeated in the just concluded Ekiti State governorship election by PDP candidate, Ayodele Fayose.
