Akpabio urged Nigerians to be vigilant and security conscious, noted
that security was critical to the development of any nation. He made
this declaration at the presentation of Dr. Udo Udo-Aka’s autobiography
and the launch of Udoka Foundation, under the chairmanship of Ambassador
Arthur Mbanefo, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs,
Lagos.
Akpabio, who stressed the need for Nigerians to join security operatives in the fight against insecurity and terrorism as that will to ensure the success of their operations against insurgents said: “Actually, no place is safe, there is need to work together as individuals, community, state and nation in order to tackle crime and other social ills in our nation.”
It would be added that Governor Akpabio had in May voiced out his concern over the abduction of over 200 Chibok school girls by notorious Boko Haram sect on April 14 in Borno State: "I am not sleeping well and I don’t expect any Nigerian parent to sleep well until those girls are back".
