Following the recent release of a video clip by Boko Haram showing the abducted girls in an undisclosed area, the Gov. Alhaji Kashim Shettima has ordered a mass production of the video for the parents of the girls to assess.

He also directed the Chairman of Chibok Local Government Area to show the grieving parents the video clip so they can ascertain if the video is legit.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media/ Communication, Alhaji Isa Gusau, the governor directed that the video be transferred into mobile storage device and shown to parents, some of the freed students who know their abducted colleagues, teachers and management staff of Government Secondary School, Chibok, so they can be identified and ascertain if they part of abducted girls or not.

Efforts are also been made to contact parents and relations of some of the abducted girls, who might be within reach in order to get feedback about the video.

Though optimistic over the video, the governor is concerned and hopes the girls were not speaking under duress.

He also called on the indigenes of Borno to continue praying for the release of the missing girls.

He further thanked the president and his wife, Patience Jonathan for their efforts towards the release of the girls.

Showing his appreciation to security agencies and volunteers engaged in search and rescue efforts, he called on them to intensify their efforts until the girls are brought back home safely.

He however called on citizens who have relevant information to forward such directly to security agencies using phone lines or send the information through community leaders in respective local government areas or to send to him directly through his phone numbers that are of public knowledge in Borno State.

Meanwhile some of the parents who have seen the video are in doubt of its validity as some said they could not find their daughters among the girls in the video clip.
