The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspects were shot and arrested by personnel of the Guards Brigade on patrol duty in the area, while attempting to flee the scene.
One of them was said to have died later from gunshot wounds while a bag containing IEDs was also recovered from the suspects.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Omeri said that the attackers came on a power bike and planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) by the entrance of the shopping mall.
He added that 21 persons had died from the blast while 17 others sustained injuries and several vehicles were damaged.
According to report, the injured victims are receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Wuse General Hospital and Maitama General Hospital.
During his visit to the Maitama hospital, FCT Minister Bala Mohammed assured the people that the Federal Government would foot the medical bills of the victims while also calling on residents to be very vigilante and report any suspicious movements to security agencies.
Yesterday's bomb blast at Emab plaza is coming on the heels of an explosion which rocked Nyanya in Abuja in May, leaving many dead and several injured.
Also, in April, an explosion rocked Abuja urban mass transport company limited garage under the bridge at Nyanya which left many dead.
