Jonathan Contributed To My Victory, Now We Will Bruise APC Ego – Fayose

The newly elected Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, whose inauguration will take place on Oct 16 2014, has stated that President Goodluck Jonathan’s insistence on party primaries helped him to become a new governor of the state.

The statement was made during Fayose's visit to the national headquarters of a party group, PDP Reloaded, in Abuja, June 24. He also expressed an opinion that the main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), will be defeated during the oncoming Osun governorship election scheduled for August 9.

Meanwhile Osun State Governor, which saw PDP candidate Fayose emerge winner saying the All Progressives Congress lost the Ekiti State governorship polls due to fraud and irregularities and this will not happen in Osun.

Fayose, who was accompanied by minister nominee, Sen Adedayo Adeyeye, and Sen. Ayo Arise, said: “If not for Jonathan for standing on his feet, consensus would have defeated me. We will bruise the ego of the opposition. In Osun we will bruise their ego. We will make Jonathan and PDP proud. Now it’s difficult to rig, that is why APC is confused.”

and assured that his deputy, Dr. Olusola Eleka, won’t succeed after Fayose's tenure expires in 2018.

It would be recalled that the Ayo Fayose scored 203, 090 number of votes to beat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Fayemi, who scored 120, 433 votes, to the second position while the candidate of the Labour Party, Bamidele Michael Opeyemi scored 18,135 votes to come third.
