The Super Eagles’ Coach Stephen Keshi has confirmed worst expectations of Nigerians by announcing that Michel Babatunde is likely to be out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

A promising 22-year-old midfielder suffered a nasty injury on 65th minute of , as his arm was struck a powerful shot from a teammate, Ogenyi Onazi.

By an awful coincidence, Babatunde’s arm was twisted after it accidentally blocked a ferocious shot by Onazi.
In post-match interview, the Big Boss said:
"I think he's got a broken hand and he's going for surgery right now as we speak.
"So I'm not sure if he's still going to participate in this World Cup. But we'll see how he goes. But it's not good."
Injured Babatunde was subsequently replaced by Michael Uchebo on 66th minute.
