2015: Asari-Dokubo Threatens War

Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, leader of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), has said there will be war if the successor of Rivers State governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi fails to probe his administration.

According to him, the outcome of Amaechi’s successor failing to probe him would be hellish.

Asari disclosed this yesterday in Port Harcourt while fielding questions from reporters shortly after attending a town hall meeting organised by NDPVF, in conjunction with the Niger Delta People Salvation Front (NDPSF), Leadership reports.

The former militant said though there is corruption in President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, it does not stop him from supporting his administration.
The warlord criticized politicians who were condemning Jonathan on corruption.

He wondered why people were blaming Jonathan solely for Nigeria’s problems when there are over 800 governments in the country.
Speaking on fast approaching February elections, Asari said there is no need for violence, stressing that the people of Niger Delta will vote for Jonathan come February 14.

We condemn in its totality act of violence against our own people. There is no need for Kalabari-Kalabari violence, Ikwerre-Ikwerre violence, Ogoni-Ogoni violence, Okrika-Okrika violence. There is no need for Itsekiri-Itsekiri violence, Urhobo-Urhobo violence, Bayelsa-Bayelsa violence. There is no need and no basis for it.

“What we are saying is that our people will work amicably among ourselves. We will vote Goodluck Jonathan come February 14. We will vote Goodluck Jonathan,” he said.

The former militant has become renowned for spitting fire, attacking anyone that is against President Jonathan. Some days back, he went hard on the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) group who recently endorsed the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking on the popular Youth-inspired show on Channels Televison, Rubbin’ Minds, Asari denied his Nigerian citizenship.
