Former Nigerian GoalKeeper Is Dead

Former Nigeria goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare, has reportedly passed away.
The Spain-based player has been battling with cancer at a Spanish hospital.
The ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper was said to have lost the battle with cancer yesterday, January 26.

Report has it that his wife died three years ago of breast cancer.
Wilfred Agbonavbare was a member of Nigeria’s U-21 Mexico 1983 Flying Eagles, 1984 AFCON silver medalist and 1994 AFCON gold medalist.

Agbonavbare played for New Nigeria Bank F.C. and BCC Lions FC before moving to Spain in 1990, where he would spend the rest of his career, starting with Rayo Vallecano in the Segunda DivisiĆ³n.
