The African Cup of Nation’s winner arrived yesterday amid speculation about his future with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Keshi’s original contract had expired in June 2014 after the Eagles run in the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation had earlier wanted a foreign coach to take over, but that plan was cancelled, with the federation president, Amaju Pinnick, later confirming that Keshi would be allowed to continue in the job.
Keshi’s return to the country may be to sign a new contract before the national team begins qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2016 Championship of African Nations.
In Keshi’s absence, assistant coach , Daniel Amokach, had led a home-based Eagles in two friendly games in the United Arab Emirates.
In the first game they lost 0-1 to Ivory Coast, later defeating Yemen 2-0 in Dubai.
