Jonathan and his team arrived at Birnin Kebbi in the evening after their campaign in Sokoto.
He paid a visit to the Emir of Gwandu, HRH Ilyasu Bashars at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi, where he said he was committed to working with traditional rulers to provide a democracy dividend.
The president pleaded with Nigerians not to mind all the criticisms against him and his administration, while asking for their votes. He pointed out his achievements so far and the need for the people of the north-west to vote him back into power at the February 14 presidential elections. President Jonathan also promised to step up the rice revolution in Kebbi state so that the importation of rice into Nigeria will be stopped.

The major presidential candidates, President Jonathan representing the PDP and Muhammadu Buhari representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), have been campaigning across the country and they both have been received warmly.

activities. Addressing the crowd that gathered to receive him at the
Haliru Bello Stadium, Jonathan said that whatever is due to Kebbi state
