PHOTO: Popular Lagos Doctor Kidnap By Gunmen

A popular medical doctor, Funsho Junaid, has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Lagos, western Nigeria.

According to PUNCH Metro online, Junaid, who is a consultant gynaecologist at the Alimosho General Hospital, Lagos, was abducted at Livingstone Hospital, Adedayo Adedeji Street, Abaranje, Ikotun.

Reports stated that the victim was attending to patients last Friday when three gunmen whisked him away at gun point.

An eyewitness,, who did not want her name mentioned, stated that one of the kidnappers posed as a patient to gain access to see the doctor before he pointed a gun at the doctor.

She added that two other assailants, who came in a Toyota car, forced the doctor into the back seat and drove off.

The suspects were reported to have contacted the victim’s wife days later and asked her to pay N20m to secure her husband's release.

A visit to the victim’s house situated inside the hospital's compound showed witnessed lot of people coming in droves to commiserate with the doctor's wife.

It was learnt that the victim, who hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State, had two young children.
When contacted on the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the police are making efforts to rescue the victim as soon as possible.
