Presidency Confirms Location Of Chibok girls

Dr Doyin Okupe, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, on Thursday, guaranteed the nation and the international community that very soon, the nation’s security forces would secure the release of the abducted Chibok girls and reunite them with their parents.

Dr Okupe gave the assurance in an interview with CNN, monitored in Abuja, where he confirmed that the location of the Chibok school girls that were taken captive by members of the radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram has been located by the country's security operatives.

“As an insider; I am saying that the location of the Chibok schoolgirls is now known and President Goodluck  Jonathan is doing everything possible to ensure their safe return” he said.

The presidential aide, who gave the confirmation a week after Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, the Chief of Defence Staff, told the public that the Nigerian military had located where the girls were being held captive.
Meanwhile, another presidential source who spoke on condition of anonymity refuted the reports that President Goodluck Jonathan was angered over the CDS revelation of the location of the kidnapped school girls.

According to the source, the president was not unmindful of the effect of the positive development on the morale of the  Nigerian military.
“if the Americans had made the breakthrough, that would have been the end of the Nigerian military and the president, as the Commander-in-Chief, knows that at all times, he must show and have confidence in the capacity and competence of his troops” the source said.

However, , for revealing that the military has located where the over 234 Chibok girls that were kidnapped on April 14 by Boko Haram is being held captive.
Chukwumerije insisted that such information should have remained a classified military secret.
