The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers state, Dakuku Peterside, said March 5 that the upcoming elections would become crucial for Nigeria’s future.
The party candidate also made a series of promises to the locals.
He was quoted as saying by P.M. News:
“I am here to solicit for your votes; when you elect me as governor, I will rehabilitate the roads in Ogbakiri and Government Secondary School.”
Apart from that Peterside vowed to link Ogbakiri with Kalabari area of the state and provide employment for the youths.
The politician recalled the decision of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs of Ikwerre land to support his candidature.
“The leaders of Ikwerre land has adopted and blessed me as their sole candidate for the governorship election to ensure justice and equity.”
It should be recalled that Dakuku Peterside was in the news last month over the drama which broke during the APC rally in Okrika, Rivers state.
Explosions and shooting started by the unknown left one person dead and caused pandemonium. The attack was followed by allegations by governor Rotimi Amaechi that it had been masterminded by the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, who didn’t want the opposition to campaign in her home town.
