The Chelsea man is number three on the list and suprisingly it is estimated that Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Kalu Uche are the two richest footballers from Nigeria.
The report claims that both players’ contracts at oil-rich Quatari club Al Rayyan gave them $2.5 million each year.
Mikel Obi is next on the list, with Obafemi Martins fourth, both earning $2 million per year.
Emmanuel Emenike comes fifth due to his ‘tax free’ contract terms at the Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Sixth is Brown Ideye of West Bromich Albion of England who recently signed a three-year contract with the English Premier League club.
As for the richest in Africa, no Nigerian player made the list, which Yaya Toure and Samuel Eto’o dominated.
