Vanguard reported that Okorocha, who is the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, in an unprecedented move admitted the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, into the Forum ahead of the polls slated for April 11.

Speaking at a town hall meeting at Amuwo Odofin local government of the state, where the dramatic display took place, Governor Okorocha defended himself by saying the action is a prophetic move.
The Imo governor went ahead to express optimism that he was very sure of the victory of Ambode at the forthcoming election as the people of Lagos have already accepted him.

“Ambode, a man with a track record of excellent performance who served for 27 years in Lagos as Auditor General of Local governments and later the Accountant General of the State is the best thing to happen to Lagos. He possesses the wealth of experience to take Lagos to the next level,” he said.
Governor Okorocha also tasked all the Igbos in Lagos to vote for Ambode, whom he described as “a man of destiny who God has prepared for this season.”

He further stated that the plight of the Igbos in Lagos will improve under an APC-led government, and presented Ambode and the deputy governor candidate, Alhaja Adegbule to the people.
Speaking also, Ambode thanked Okorocha and all the people in attendance at the town hall meeting, assuring them of his readiness to finish no fewer than 25 roads in all the local government in four years.

The Lagos state APC governorship candidate also promised enhanced and all-inclusive development for the state.

Meanwhile, Okorocha also on Monday, March 9, revealed that no fewer than seven governors from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are in secrete meeting with the leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
