2015: Jonathan Campaigns Against Bloodshed In Nigeria

Ahead of the 2015 general elections in Nigeria, the Federal Government led by President Goodluck Jonathan has advised all presidential candidates in the country not to incite bloodshed when they lose in next year’s polls.
The presidency made the statement on Thursday through a statement posted on Facebook by the Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media, Bemigho Reno Omokri.

While referring to the violence that happened in some parts of northern Nigeria after the 2011 general elections, Omokri stated on a Facebook account, ‘Build Up NIgeria’, ‘SHARE this post to press home our demands that none of the Presidential candidates must incite bloodshed when they lose in 2015.’Nobody’s blood is worth the ambition of anyone!

The post by Jonathan’s special assistant on new media has already gone viral and generated scores of comments and views.
Many of those that commented on the post were of the opinion that one of the ways President Jonathan could avoid bloodshed was to ensure that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducts a free and fair elections come 2015.

Others that commented on the post advised the President to make sure all election criminals are brought to justice.
