The Christmas-themed giveaway comprised food items and free medical
supplies to the families. According to reports, the outreach was done
simultaneously in 4 locations: Makoko, Ijesha, Lagos Island (Isale Eko)
and Jakande communities across Lagos state. Free health supplements and
supplies were also distributed with on-the-spot medical checkups for the
adults and children present.
The senior pastor, House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who visited some of the locations, presented gifts to the people and encouraged them with uplifting words. One of the beneficiaries could not hold her excitement as she commented “When they gave me the ticket, I did not believe them but thank God. I have never seen this kind of thing before. The pastor give (sic) me food stuffs and he also give (sic) my baby money”.
In a chat with the pressmen immediately afterwards, Pastor Adefarasin said Christmas is all about giving hence the House on the Rock church’s commitment to putting smiles on the faces of the people who may not have been able to afford to celebrate the yuletide. “Lagos State can be better than it is but the church must play her part” he added.
The children had a great time as there was a party for them at the different locations with a lot to eat and drink. In the end, the kids and adults all went home with gifts, food items and a smile.
