Patience Jonathan said this during her visit to Wike at his residence on Saturday in Port Harcourt.
She said Wike had been verified and that his governship abilities were not in doubt.
The first lady, then, advised the people of Rivers to cast their votes for him in the 2015 general elections.
Answering, Nyesom Wike expressed thanks to Patience Jonathan and vowed his loyalty and commitment to the people of the Rivers state.
He also called for peace and unity among the people, adding that it was the only way meaningful development could thrive in the state.
Wike arose the PDP governorship aspirant on Monday, December 8, in a peaceful primary conducted at Community Secondary School, Nkpolu in Port Harcourt Local Government Area.
The former minister, in his acceptance speech promised to grapple the state back from the main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike polled 1,083 votes, while Dumbari Dimkpa came a distant second with 21 votes.
