Major Shake-up Takes Place In Lagos Police Command

The Assistant Inspector General of Police  in charge of Zone 2 Police command Onikan Lagos , Mr.  Umar Manko has urged newly promoted officers to take up more responsibilities that will enhance security in the country.

Mr. Manko  gave this charge during the  decoration ceremony of  19 senior police officers  with their new rank at the Zone 2 Police Command Onikan.
Mr  Manko was assisted  in the decoration  by   the Lagos state Commissioner of Police Mr. Kayode Aderanti. Four senior officers were promoted from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of police .They include DCPs Bello Yahaya, Kurawa Abdullahi Sarki, Onaade Samson Awoniyi and Audu Adamu.

Other decorated officers from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police  include ACPs Ochogwu Abbas Ogbeh, Sule Garba Tunduwada,Kayode Mustapha, Mohammed Raji Kamal, Chukwudi Chris Ariekere, Usman Habat Ndanbabo,Omolara Oloruntola, Ayuba Usman, Ameachi Oliver, Onyeugo Victor, Obinna Ikegwuonu, Folashade Adams, Fedelis Okafor, Philip Eze and Joseph Nnadozie Ibekwe.

In a related development, a major shake-up  at  the Lagos state police command has seen  more than twenty Divisional Police Officers and Officers in Charge of Units deployed to other beats. Olympic Gold medalist  Chioma Ajunwa  a Chief Superintendent of Police is one of the DPOs deployed .

The Lagos police public Relation Officer, DSP Keneth Nwosu when contacted, confirmed the development adding that the deployment is a normal routine in the Force aimed at strengthening policing in the state. Naij.com correspondent gathered that next in line for  redeployment  are Area Commanders , SPOs and other rank and file.
