According to the agency, the death toll has risen to 19, adding that property worth N240 million were destroyed in the attack, part of which include 130 shops that were razed by the inferno that accompanied the explosion.
ThisDay reports that the Chairman, Emergency Committee of the agency, Alhaji Inuwa Bello, who gave the information noted that the figures were collated following an assessment carried out by the officials.
In a related development, donations have started pouring in for the traders of the market towards the reconstruction of the razed market, which is said to be the biggest in the state.
The state governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, at the weekend reportedly announced a personal donation of five trailers of cement for the reconstruction of the destroyed market, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the forthcoming February 2015 general election made a donation of N30million.
The minister said as soon as the state government put modalities in place for the reconstruction of the market, he would mobilise more funds from his friends and associates to support the quick reconstruction of the market.
It would be recalled that few hours after a bomb blast killed no fewer than 20 people in Gombe state, another bomb explosion rocked a popular market in Bauchi state.
