The billboard according to Punch, is located on the Suleija-Kaduna
expressway at the Federal Housing junction, beside the office of the
National Emergency Management Agency in Kubwa.
Findings by Punch revealed that the arsonist drove to the billboard, parked his car, brought out a tyre and set it on fire.
Accounts by a National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) official revealed that the arsonist came back in the night and on seeing that the fire didn’t do much damage poured petrol on another tyre and set it ablaze.
This is not the first time arsonist would attack the president’s campaign posters.
It would be recalled that some irate youths went berserk in Jos on January 10, 2015, Saturday, setting ablaze two campaign buses emblazoned with the picture of President Goodluck Jonathan and his Vice, Namadi Sambo.
In Katsina, Unidentified political thugs on January 20,1015, Tuesday, attacked the convoy of President Goodluck Jonathan during the continuation of his re-election campaign.
The announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to shift the general election from February 14 and 28, to March 28 and April 11 has indeed triggered chains of reaction from the polity. While a larger chunk of the reactions condemn, in very hard and unkind terms, the postponement, some others believe it is done to save the nation and the electoral body from greater danger and chaos.
