The politicians will officially declare their defection in an event
scheduled to take place in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi later today,
a source close to the defectors told the Leadership online.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the Dailytrust, the deputy governor denied nursing plans to leave the PDP for the opposition party.
Aliyu, who spoke through the secretary of his campaign organisation, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Gummi, debunked the rumour, saying such rumour bears no truth.
“We are aware of rumour circulating around suggesting that Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil Aliyu, deputy governor of Kebbi State, is decamping to the opposition party. It is the imagination of those who do not wish K.Aliyu well. K.Aliyu is a founding member of PDP and will remain as such.
“The awful machination should be considered as mischievous and ill conceived. We hereby refute the unfounded rumour,” Gummi said.
This is coming less than 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan visited Kebbi to commission an international airport in the state.
