Nigerian Ace Broadcaster Dies At 55

Latest reports inform that one of Nigeria’s ace broadcasters, Opeyemi Fajemilehin, died Tuesday night in Ilesa, Osun State.
According to reports, the late Fajemilehin was said to have been diabetic before his death and gave up the ghost last night at his residence in Ilesha.
All efforts to speak with a member of his family as at press time were unsuccessful but it was gathered that Fajemileyin remains had been deposited at a mortuary in Osun state pending when burial plan would be concluded by his family.
Meanwhile, prior to his demise, the late Fajemilehin was the General Manager of Ilesha based Unique FM, a position he held for about 2 years.

The deceased was born in 1959 in Igede Ekiti in the present Ekiti State and had his primary and secondary education in Ekiti State and Ikire in Osun State respectively.
He equally studied at Lagos Sec. Comm. Academy(LASCA) now known as Ilupeju College,Obanikoro Lagos.
He then proceeded to Nigeria Institute of Journalism(NIJ),Ogba and passed out with honours.
Among programmes he was presenting on radio before his death were, “FAJEMILEHIN ON FM” and “PIRILOLOGO NJI” on Radio Lagos Ikeja,  “FAJEMILEHIN ON THE ROCK” on Paramount FM 94.5, Abeokuta.

He has also written three books:”EWI IWOYI”,”EWI KIKA ATI KIKE”, and “ENI BIMO ORAN”.
Fajemilehin has received many honours/awards including “ALOYINLOUN” given by Yoruba Scholars of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He is the first National Vice-President of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria.
