First Lady Patience Jonathan urged all the Nigerians to support the
authorities and President Goodluck Jonathan in their fight against
terrorism.
Speaking yesterday in Lagos at the 44th Birthday celebration of the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Gani Adams, President's wife pointed out that "terrorism can defeat anyone including my husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, if he fights alone, because terrorism cannot defeat us collectively."
Dame Patience also stressed the fact that each person bears responsibility in addressing insecurity challenges facing the country, Vanguard reports.
Jonathan's wife, who was represented by Senior Special Assistance to President on Youths and Student matters, Jude Imagwe, was quoted saying:
"I want to thank all Nigerians but as I appreciate your effort, I must remind you that you all have a responsibility to play in the security challenges facing this country."
This statement had been apparently made hours before another deadly attack rocked Nyanya, Abuja, leaving already 12 (as officially confirmed) dead and scores injured. Yesterday's attack comes barely 3 weeks after the direst bombing ever launched on Abuja, with 75 casualties and more than 200 injured.
