Real names Esegine Allen, the 28-year old Top Nigerian act, was on Thursday, November 13, 2014 driven out of the Redeemer’s University’s premises by the school management. The embarrassing incident which was against the students expectations saw them protesting about the management’s decision.
According to Netng, the ‘Shoki’ crooner who is a Delta state descent was said to have been invited by Redeemer’s University Student’s Association for the 2014 Fresher’s event tagged ‘The Debut Night.’
However, just before the performance of his hit track, ‘Shoki,’ the university’s chaplain was reported to have threatened the DJ of the event, who is a student not to play the song, threatening him of being expelled if he dares play the song.
The singer was left with no other choice but to leave the tertiary institution, Orezi afterwards took to Twitter to apologise to the disappointed students, promising however to be back to entertain them someday hopefully.
It would be recalled that just recently, the various social media platforms went agog sometimes back due to the meaning of the ‘Shoki’ song. The word shoki is a Yoruba word with the literal meaning ‘quickie’.
