Suntai Back To Nigeria, Aassociates Say His Condition Has Improved

The Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, who endured brain injuries in an air crash in 2012, on Monday night returned to Nigeria from London, with his companions saying his health has significantly improved.

Danbaba Suntai with his wife Hauwa and members of his medical team and security detail flew into the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, via an unspecified rented airplane at 10.05 pm.

Top politicians from Taraba State and his aides including the former Governor of the state, Jolly Nyame, a diplomat, Emmanuel Njuiwa, and a serving Senator from the state, Emmanuel Bwacha received the governor on arrival.


Suntai walked into the departure hall of the airport aided by one of his own physicians and was driven in a convoy of about 16 cars directly to the residence of a retired army General from Taraba, Theophilus Danjuma, in the Asokoro District of Abuja where he met with his close assistants and companions.

Mr. Suntai, who seemed to be in good mood, exchanged mockeries with Mr. Nyame and some of his assistants for about 15 minutes before retiring to his private chamber.

Some of the governor’s aides said considering his condition before his last medical trip abroad, his health has significantly better.


It would be recalled that Danbaba Suntai , Adamawa State on August 25, 2012. Numerous media and medical reports, as well as speculations by those aware of to the governor, specify that Danbaba Suntai is still suffering from the consequences of the crash, both physically and mentally.
